Ragtime Concert with Harwich Brass Quintet and Organ
On Saturday, April 20 at 3 PM, there will be a concert of the Harwich Brass Quintet with organist Marcia Hempel and clarinetist Lisa Bosley at First Congregational Church, UCC, in Harwich Center.
Bob Whitehead, director of the quintet, has arranged several Joplin ragtime pieces for them. Organist Marcia Hempel will play Joplin, Fats Waller and other ragtime composers on the church’s Hutchings/Beaudry organ. Clarinetist Lisa Bosley will play a Joplin piece, “Bethena”, and a Stephen Foster song, both with the quintet. There will also be a piece for piano and brass quintet.
The Harwich Brass Quintet is Susan Abbott, Bruce Stott, Mark Paradis, Chuck Katuska and director Bob Whitehead. The concert is free of charge.
